Overview

The WBE transportation department is responsible for the coordination of bus lists, bus routes, vehicle repairs, vehicle maintenance, and staff recruitment.

Since the department's inception, we've been able to secure 3 brand-new buses, 6 local bus shelters for our students. With the support of Jordan’s Principle funding, we were able to purchase a 16+2 Passenger School Bus for handicap purposes. With the projected increase in student population and student transportation, we also purchased a 72 Passenger School Bus.

Currently, we employ 4 bus drivers, 4 bus monitors, and 2 bus licensed WBE staff who are also being utilized to fill in as bus/van drivers.

For the 2023-2024 school year, we had 345 students utilize the transportation services, which was an increase of 44 students. This year the bus routes are, South Bay/Buzwah/Lakeshore; Kaboni/Murray Hill; Rabbit Island/Bayview Heights; Andrew/Henry/Tower/Christine/Genevieve; In Town JK/SK, Spec Ed (Route 7); and Cape Smith.
