Remote Learning

The WBE is offering Remote Learning opportunities to families as an alternative to in-class, face-to-face learning for the 2020 - 2021 school year.

There are two possible options for Remote Learning:

1.  Full - Time Online - Remote Learning Teachers will post assignments on one of our online learning platforms:
          • Brightspace for Grades K to 6
          • Microsoft Teams for Grades 7 and 8

The teachers will offer synchronous learning opportunities as well as office hours to support student learning.

2. Paper-Based - Remote Learning Teachers will create paper packages that can be picked up at Pontiac school (bins will be outside).  Completed packages can be dropped off in the "Completed Work" bin.  Packages are available to be picked up on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Hand sanitizer is provided.

COVID precautions for paper-based packages are in place. The packages are assembled no later than Friday of the week before they are to be assigned.  This allows the packages to be untouched for a minimum of 48 hours prior to being picked up by the family.  We will also be starting to fog the packages in the New Year as part of our COVID prevention protocol.

From time to time, we will post information about picking up extra resources or supplies that students will need to be successful in learning from home. These resource packages will be placed in the bins with the paper-based packages and are available to all students - full-time online and paper-based.
